I’ve been listening these days to the album Nashville by Bill Frisell.

Xavier Fort, a great guitar player and friend of mine introduced me to this album a year ago. Released on 1997, I’d say is a very personal approach to country music from the point of view of a jazz performer like Bill Frisell is.

The point on this album is that Frisell’s counterpart is Jerry Douglas on a square-neck resonator guitar. That’s the key for me, two different styles and two different sounds. Both awesome musicians.

This is the song which opens the album and one of my favourites: Gimme a Holler.
